There is something about a dog’s wagging tail and wet slobbery kiss that can bring a smile to almost anyone’s face. Tulsa International Airport is no stranger to this theory and is launching a new therapy dog program, “Welcome Waggin” to assist those with a fear of flying.
Dogs tend to make people happy and feel less stress overall, so TIA is partnering with the nonprofit Alliance of Therapy Dogs to add some piece of mind to their nervous passengers.
More than 60 airports in the United States already have therapy dog programs in place, and TIA plans to start with a team of eight pups, but the numbers are expected to grow. After all, who can’t resist an excited little fur baby wearing a vest reading, “Pet me?”
Regarding the effects on asthmatic and patrons allergic to dog dander, the handlers are mindful of those around them, and they will not be subjected to puppy cuddles if they wish to be left alone.
Let’s join Fine Airport Parking in welcoming the loveable animals to the TIA team!
If you are like many of us and frequently travel with your fur babies in your vehicles, Fine offers amazing detail packages to get the fur off of your upholstery! Check us out today!
